9 Year Old Girl Shatters MD State Record With 94 Lb Catch

When Emma Zajdel set out to fish on the Maryland coast, she was hoping to catch some big Tuna or other fish with her father, Ed. Instead, she ended up SHATTERING the state record with a 94 Lb (!!!!) cobia. It was about quitting time, and Emma's turn to reel when she felt a bite. Once strapped into the fighting chair with the belt, she knew she had something special on the other end of the line. She caught THIS instead. Emma gives her next weekend plans as "fishing the kid's classic." I think it is fair to say she is the betting favorite! Although cobia fishing is regulated and forbidden in federal waters, Emma caught it in Maryland waters, therefore her record is verified by the DNR!
