All-Girl Fishing Team Makes History By Winning State Fishing Championship (Louisiana)

Alexis Virgillito and Taylor Bacot with their 30+ pound sack of state-winning largemouth bass.

Alexis Virgillito and Taylor Bacot are the first all-female team to win a fishing championship in Louisiana. Together, Alexis, an 8-grader who competes up, and her partner Taylor, a freshman at Parkway High School near Bossier Parish, Louisiana won the high school state championship on Caddo Lake in Shreveport, Louisiana.

The duo weighed their limit of 5 fish, totaling 30 pounds and 3 ounces. This giant sack of mega-bass was enough to outweigh the other 108 competing teams and lock in the state championship for Alexis and Taylor. Congrats to the ladies on their incredible catches and for making waves in fishing history!
