A Faceless Fish Was Rediscovered In Australia And It Will Haunt Your Dreams

Recently scientists in Australia "rediscovered" a faceless fish. The dark depths of the ocean are absolutely terrifying, filled with nightmare fuel fish. Well, add another to the list. In one of the most ghastly discoveries known to man (besides what actually goes into a hot dog), scientists have made contact with a faceless fish. Yes, a fish without a face.“By faceless, I mean it had no eyes, nothing, not even tiny spots or modified areas indicating eyes beneath the skin,” one scientist penned about his jarring discovery off the coast of New South Wales, Australia. The fish was found at 13,100 feet below the sea, which is about 2 and a half miles. It was identified by the Australian Scientists as a cusk eel (thankfully) rarely seen by humans, called Typhlonus nasus. They can typically live in water as deep as 16,000 feet, according to someone who probably made that up because who would go down there to prove it? Source: Gizmodo
While this creature is named a "faceless fish," it allegedly does have a face. The mouth protrudes from the skin underneath the head and the eyes are invisible, shaded by their skin. So the faceless fish is basically just a fish with an invisible face, which is actually worse. This, again, furthers my stance on never swimming in the ocean. Who knows when these things are going to make the 16,000 foot trek to the surface to brush up against a dude's leg while he's trying to catch a skimboard wave with his boys. Next thing you know he calls in his shark friends and we have a full ocean revolt on our hands. Not on my watch.P.S. Good news = The faceless men of Game of Thrones now have a mascot.
