Why You Should Join A College Fishing Club, From A Collegiate Angler
I Want YOU to Join the Fishing Club at Your College
Colleges are full of student run clubs ranging from pick-up basketball leagues to cooking clubs, but many students never know about their college fishing club. This is normally because the guys running the fishing club are too busy with a line in the water than recruiting students. Nothing wrong with that, just means that if you want to join the club you must either run into a member of the club in class or do some research to find out when the meetings are. That may sound like extra time you don’t think have with all your classes, but I can promise you that it will be the best thing you ever do in college, especially at one of the best colleges for fishermen.
Other Students Who Love Fishing as Much as YOU
College can be a rough time if you get paired with a dormmate who doesn’t like to fish. When all you want to do is find some local ponds to fish, but can’t find anyone to show you around, all you can do is walk from class to class dreaming about a big bass on the end of your line. Joining your college fishing club can solve that issue as soon as you say hello to one member. The one thing all fisherman have in common is that they love to fish, and in college that drive to fish is so strong that anyone in the fishing club will take you to a local fishing hole.
Take a Break from Talking About Grades and Classes
Once you enter the room to your college fishing club all you will hear is fishing, fishing, and more fishing. People you meet in the club won’t try to talk to you about your classes or your grades like other students will, these guys and gals want to hear about fishing. You will hear about good fishing spots, crazy fishing stories, and big fish. The club members want to hear about your favorite baits and personal best fish, unlike the random students you meet in class. Your college fishing club is a place to get away from your class responsibilities, and only worry about when the next time you will be going fishing with your new friends.
Boats, Fishing Tournaments, and College Fishing Club Pride
The best part about joining your college fishing club is that a few members have boats, if not more. Those guys or gals with boats are the ones that get to go to the college fishing tournaments and you could join them! Almost all fishing tournaments that you and the club will be participating in will be partner tournaments, so even if you do not have a boat then you could join someone who does. Your club will also put together fishing tournaments for members of the club, and this is when your angler skills will be put to the test to earn the pride in the fishing club you deserve.
