Kentucky Man Catches 95 Pound Catfish From The Ohio River

Terry Raymer and his fishing buddy Michael Robinson recently reeled in a 95-pound blue catfish from the Ohio River at an undisclosed Kentucky location. Their monster catch was only 11 pounds shy of the current state record caught by Glynn Grogan from the Ohio River in 2018.

A catfish this big is usually considered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for most people. However, this was the fourth 80lb+ catfish caught by Terry and his buddies over the last four seasons on the same day of the month, March 15th.

It's clear that Terry and the catfish crew know what they're doing, and it also seems like around St. Patricks Day is a prime time to chase monster blue catfish in the bluegrass state.

Terry's fish was likely between 30-40 years old, and the current world record blue catfish weighed 143 pounds and was caught in 2011 from Kerr Lake in Virginia by Richard Anderson.
