Just 5 lbs shy of a state record, Riahn Brewington of North Carolina reeled in a 112 lb monster of a catfish. The 10 lb spinning gear was literally outmatched by over TEN TIMES in this battle, and somehow managed not to snap.“In the water, it felt like it was pretty big, but like I said being that big I thought it would have already snapped the line,” He told The NY Daily News. “But I didn’t realize how big he was until I actually got my hands underneath him.”As far as where he caught this beast? "On the northeast Cape Fear River," is all the angler was willing to say. And with a catch like that, can you blame him? Here are a few more images of the monstrosity, via Riahn Brewington's Facebook:

The huge catfish was safely released back into the secret spot, and likely swam back into the ocean where it joined it's other baby whale brothers and sisters.
