Mystery Tackle Box Relocates To Chicago's West Loop Neighborhood
Mystery Tackle Box’s global headquarters has relocated from Evanston, IL to Downtown Chicago’s West Loop Neighborhood! In the past year, thanks to the amazing support of our loyal customers, MTB grew from 4 full-time employees with massive amounts of empty office space to 17 full-time employees packed in elbow-to-elbow. So, we decided that it was high time to upgrade, expand, and relocate from our suburban starter office south to the big city, where BIG things are to come….
This move gives MTB plenty of room to continue our growth, while also giving our current employees a nice improvement in their everyday workspace. Instead of the neighborhood H&R Block and GNC, we now step outside to views of The Sears/Willis Tower and Chicago’s majestic skyline. Large windows, high ceilings, hardwood floors, and chalkboard walls in an up-and-coming neighborhood combine to give us a vibe that would make any good startup proud. We also gained a pretty sweet rooftop patio with a killer view and, for the first time in company history, a full-size refrigerator. We’ve already added a few MTB flourishes to the space (some beautiful chalkboard art, for example), and plan to continue making it our own in coming months. There are even unconfirmed rumors of a shuffleboard table swirling around the water cooler.
In truth, all these great amenities are an afterthought compared to the real reason our employees love the new office: lunch options. Evanston has a decent food scene, but the West Loop is Chicago’s best and most diverse food neighborhood. Acclaimed restaurants like Girl & The Goat and Au Cheval are a stone’s throw away, and the allure of the old school lunch spots like J.P. Graziano’s sandwiches is hard to resist. If you’re looking for Wendy’s or McDonald’s, you’re out of luck though. That is, of course, unless you’re looking for McDonald’s soon-to-be international HQ which is moving in a few blocks away very soon. Also around the corner is Google’s shiny new Chicago office and a host of startups like Fiverr and RocketMiles, practically ensuring MTB’s future as a global powerhouse. The office also has rooftop access and comfortable seating for eating lunch. Not to brag, but just taking in one of the most beautiful views of the city on a break is pretty awesome, as well.
All in all, the office is bigger, brighter, and better. This move is a major milestone in the evolution of MTB and one that every current employee can enjoy knowing that their hard work made it possible. We are thrilled with our new home and can’t wait to see what new adventures it leads us on. To check out some more photos of our new digs, check out the slideshow![easingslider id="5235"]
