Owl Whisperers Serve Up Bream To Bird With Bare Hand

What do you do when a bird tries to take a fish right off your line? Reel that sucker in and offer it up as sacrifice to get the birds away from you, obviously. That is exactly what happened to 21-year-old Cody Taylor, of Savannah, Ga. and his friend while fishing the , The Ogeechee River.

The guys were out catching bream when an owl was spotted lurking, waiting to steal their meal. So, instead of letting the owl lurk and wait for a meal, they gave him an easy opportunity to swoop right into the buffet line. The bird was identified as a barred owl, according to NorthCarolinaSportsman.com. Barred owls are known to hang along the bottom of forests near water, and often venture into the water for snacks to grab craws, frogs, panfish, and other small aquatic animals. They do not, however, usually take those fish directly from the hands of anglers.
