State Record Walleye Caught On JUGLINE In Missouri. Yes, Walleye Jugging
You read that right. A new Missouri record jugging catch! But, a walleye?Jason Reynolds of Warsaw, Missouri caught a walleye on a jug line on Truman Lake in Benton County while (obviously) catfishing. The new record eclipsed the old "alternate method" catch by 1 lb, 1 oz. A HUGE difference, compared to most fishing records.
“I first thought I caught a carp, but when I got the fish in the boat I realized I had caught a walleye,” Reynolds said. “I was in shock that I caught a large walleye.”The "alternate method" category for Missouri records refers to: throwlines, trotlines, limb lines, bank lines, jug lines, spearfishing, snagging, snaring, gigging, grabbing, and archery. Basically, everything but your standard cast and retrieve.Props to Jason Reynolds, who also holds the state alternative method record in Missouri for spotted bass, which he caught only 100 yards away from this walleye! Note to self: break records by jugging..
