Terminally Ill Angler's Last Wish: To Fish With The Pros

You may have come across this story elsewhere on the Fishing Internet, but we felt it was our duty to pass it along and help in any way we could.David Cosner was diagnosed years ago with Wegener’s Granulomatosis, a rare illness affecting the blood flow to vital organs. In David's case, his lungs were particularly affected. After hundreds of surgeries, years of fighting, and doctors doing everything in their power, his diagnosis is terminal.David, an avid angler and alumnus of the Texas State Bass Fishing Team, had one final wish: To fish with his idols, in a professional tournament, one of the Bass Central Opens. As we all know, entry fees to these tournaments are steep, let alone travel, gear, and all other associated costs. To help with the costs, David and his team have set up a GoFundMe you can donate to here. If you can help, please do!

"People often underestimate the power of bass fishing. It’s more than the hooksets, the fish catches and the camaraderie—at its core, bass fishing is an escape from the mundane. It’s a way to circumvent the stresses of everyday life." - David Cosner
