Vote On The Best Way To Get Rid Of Fishing Tackle!

I know there’s no such thing as “too much tackle,” but we were coming pretty darn close at the Mystery Tackle Box Headquarters. As the team grew in our new office, the space for eating lunch and the space for storing crankbaits was quickly becoming the same place, so we had to do some offloading.So we were presented with a challenge: Think of a creative way to get rid of 100 lures. Donate, give away, create a contest, fill up your own boat, whatever you wanted. We split up into teams, put our thinking caps on, and offloaded some tackle.Now, we need your help. Vote on what the best tackle giveaway was so we can pick a winner! Here are the entries:

1. Pinata Smashing Contest

The first entrance was a competition to give away 10 lures each to 10 different winners. Several members of the team filled a Nemo pinata with 100 lures, tied on a blindfold, and gave it an epic beatdown. The video of the beating (and the list of winners) is right here:

2. Donating To Ike's Foundation

Our second entry also leveraged Instagram, challenging our followers to donate to Ike's Foundation, aimed at getting more kids involved with fishing. They are always in need of lures, so we shipped them 100, and chose winners using the hashtag #DonateYourTackle to receive some tackle of their own.

3. Rewarding Our Most Loyal Customers

The third entry in our competition looked to give back to our most influential customers. The 10 longest running subscribers to Mystery Tackle Box were rewarded with a free box, along with a hand written letter signed by all of the members of the team.

4. Donating To Louisiana Flood Victims

The Louisiana Flood hit the Southern Region of the country extremely hard, devastating communities and completely wiping out the homes of some Louisiana residents. We found 20 of our subscribers that lived in the area affected by the flood, and sent them a big bag of baits! While we know it isn't nearly enough to get them back on their feet, we still wanted to brighten their day at least a little bit.
