You Have To See This Australian Salmon Feeding Frenzy
Today in "Times I Wish I Had My Pole," I present to you an INSANE Australian Salmon feeding frenzy that interrupted a stand up paddleboarding class in Perth, Australia. Elemental SUP had to call off classes today due to the flapping storm of salmon that poured into the harbor to ambush a school of baitfish:The feeding frenzy itself isn't completely rare, but the number of fish involved and proximity to the shore made it a pretty incredible sight. Thousands of fish fighting over an endless buffet of tiny snack-fish, all under the gaze of onlooking seagulls waiting for the scraps. The spawn is fully on in Australia, especially for this rare form of Salmon native only to Australia and New Zealand in the Arripadae family. Reports have been great for Australian Salmon fishing thus far in Australia, so if you've ever wanted to head down under with your pole in hand, now is the time! These large hoards of feeding Australian Salmon are also going to be easy prey for sharks. With the schools moving in so close to shore and sharks likely to follow them for an easy meal, this flailing salmon video is also a good reminder why I'm too terrified to ever swim in the ocean.
