You can fish the BioSpawn PlasmaTail worm a number of ways, but it was primarily designed for finesse rigs like the drop shot rig. It also works well on a small shaky head rig (aka jig worm). You don't need to do much to get great action out of this worm since the tail design lets the worm entice bass with the slightest rod twitches.

Caught a nice little bass after the second throw and several after. What I liked most was the movement and it caught bass repeatedly. A defiant in my takle box.
picked up the black and blue 4.5 inch plasmatail to give drop shotting a try since i have never done it. Ended up catching a 4.5lbs bass this weekend. Seen it swirl on some bait fish near some pads, casted the drop shot in twitched it twice and she smacked it hard! cant wait to try it more!
Caught a nice little bass after the second throw. What I liked most was the movement of the Tail. The Cons about this product on my opinion it should be a little bit more heavier or bigger in size. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR BASS.
Great on Shaky Head
This worm has great action on a Shaky Head! Very pleased with the Biospawn line.
So bought these because my son wanted to try using a dropshot. Well he caught his first dropshot fish. Great design and good action. Also used it on a ned rig and had success. Will be purchasing again.
Great color and action in the water, high quality bait. It isnt a typical color and sometimes fish go crazy for it.
Works amazing on a shaky head because the tail is lighter, so it stands straight up when underwater, (((( fish go crazy for this kind of presentation))) I used this bait for 1 day and USED THEM ALL UP. ❗️❗️
Solid Finesse Worm
Solid finesse worm! Works great on a shaky head! Great for slowing down on hot summer ponds in the middle of the day
There are a lot of worms; this is one of my favorites
This is just about the perfect 4" worm: soft, bouyant, and the tapered tail with the bulbous end gives it a ton of action for shaking. I wouldn't complain if these were in the box every month.
A pretty good bait
At first, I put this bait on a shaky-head for my MTB slam, and I got a few hits, but got it caught on a log and it broke off. Since it was my last shaky-head, I put this bait on a drop shot. I simply nose hooked it, but it fell off almost immediately. Great on a shaky head, jut don't nose-hook it.
Top pick for my son
Out of all the baits in box this month. This is favorite for my eight year old son.
Best Drop shot I've used!
I just received this in my MTB today and took it out on a drop shot rig. First cast I caught a bass. Small bass, but still impressed me!
Very pleased with the floating tail action
This plasma tail is great. It is very tough and durable and recieved many hard hits from bass and keot going great highly recommend this plastic
Great worm for shakey head when the bite gets tough
plasma tail goodness
These are great worms to Texas rig with small weights
Great balance. Seems to only catch big ones. I like to t-rig these but see a bunch of guys drop shotting them. I plan on digging out the spinning tackle on my next trip and giving it a try.
great baits, great company
Since I first saw advertising for this company I wanted to try their lures. They seem to have great action, it wasn't until I got them in my box that I actually fished them. I just started drop shot fishing and this lure made it seem too easy with its action and quality of fish it catches. I was convinced and picked up more of their products like the exo stick.
Perfect for drop shot or shaky-head. Couldn't ask for better action!
I am a huge drop shot fan and these are fantastic! Bio Spawn does things right and I was look forward to getting these for a long time! Great color, action, size and versatility.
Literally I use this to find the fish. I get hits like no other on this product. It's outstanding and a must have in your plastics arsenal.
First pack of baits, first cast, 5.6 lbs largemouth. Not too shabby! Love these things!
Biospawn plasma tail!!! Awesome awesome awesome
I love these things, I just can't stop using them, it's a bait I would never have bought and probably never tried, thank you mtb for this little beauty
Awesome dropshot plastic, presents itself great in the water. Used it in a dark rocky bottom lake and bass love it, definitely going to order some from Tackle Warehouse. THANKS for sharing this great bait
best dropshot worm ever!!
Awsome bait! Very durable caught 4 fish cast after cast and the worm was still use able.I got my baits in purple fire color and it killed in my pond! Best dropshot worm ever!!!!!
bites and More bites
Really enjoyed this plastic worm! I fished it Texas rig in a creek and river and the drop shot of clay and rocky bottom. Defiantly plan on using this worm in m aresenal
This Is the best lure I have ever used by far I love them I recommend to all fisher men
Not durable. Too soft for my likes. It tore the first use. Performance is fine. I like the way it presents itself in water. Just needs to be stronger material.
Used it today for the first time in a pond near my house. I was catching bass or getting bites almost every cast! I was using the Watermelon Red Plasmatail. I will definitely have to get some more and try a few different colors.
works really well
Made my first drop shot rig ever. The video helped a lot but used the green worm. Second cast in had a bass. 3Rd cast in had a larger bass hooked but lost it do to bad knoting. Going to use it again tomorrow to see if I can catch more. Great product easy to hook. Need to buy more.
One of my favorites
Checked out BioSpawn before and was just getting ready to buy some of their baits when I got this in my mystery tacklebox. I got the purple fire colorway. Let me start out by saying this thing not only looks awesome but also performs very well. I tried it with a wacky rig and had excellent luck out of it until a fish bit the tail part off. After the tail was bit off, it wasn't anywhere near as effective on the wacky rig so I tried a different way of hooking it and it worked just as good as it did when I first tried it out. I love this bait company and I'll be buying more in the future.
Love these. My favorite mystery so far. Get hits wherever I take them. Already ordered a different color and both are great!
Amazing drop shot worm
Amazing worm for drop shot. I love the way that it moves through the water. Have had many good results with this. Have not tried it any other way besides drop shot, but drop shot has worked well for me.
Very cool drop shot bait. Has great action especially nose hooked. Going to try it on a shakey head next. The color I got (oxblood) is a killer out here too.
Biospawn is really pushing bait into the future. This bait is very unique and I cannot wait to use it out on the lake.
plasma tail stands out
I used the Biospawn Plasma Tail and was quite please with lively action. It draw out several bass from the weed bed. It had great presentation.
I also would like to see slightly shorter worm. I would like to try the pumpkin seed, I received the dark blue worm. The bass were really interested. It is always a charge to see the "hit". The bright tail really stood out.
Awesome drop shot
The action is insane. You don't even need to move it and it works good.
It's very unique. Haven't tried it yet but am anxious to try it out.
great finesse worm
I couldn't catch anything one hot day, so like usual when fish aren't biting I switch to the ultra light. I tried this weightless and caught 3 species of fish in minutes. Plan to try it weighed in deeper water.
Used with drop-shot and and texas rig. Impressed with action/look in water in both presentations.
I fished this bait dropshot. I was pleasantly surprised on how well it work. Honestly, I wasn't sure if the floating tail was going to be helpful. Thank you very much
plasma tail worms
The color works very good, I used it with a bullet weight an fished near grass mats with it an it seemed like something different the bass havnt seen before. They chose it over other worms I've had. Good review on them. Caught around 7 spotted bass on Tom bigby river with them
A dropshot dream. I started running this with lots of doubt, but that don't was soon quelled. The floating tail is killer!
i love that the tail floats i have all kinds of ideas for this one
The plasma tail is a interesting bait. I really thought I wouldn't catch anything off of it but then.......... I tried it on the hooks and weight and now it one of my favorite bait! It caught me two -three pound bass and now I love them. I bought like three more pack. They are
I really like the feel of this product and I have been wanting to try biospwan for a while now. I haven't gotten a strike yet but I think it's do to the color I received. I got the pink one I think I need the pumpkin to match lakes I fish
I used this the other day and caught some nice bass with it. This bait looks beautiful in the water and is an overall great bait!
This one sweet lure..can't wait to hit the water again with this bait.
I wasn't sure about the look of these when I got them in my box and I thought my wife had subscribed me to something "fishy". I used these on a drop shot rigged and was blown away.
Very life like in the water. I first tried them in the pool and was impressed.
I found these worms to be average at best. I am not a fan of the action, and they just seemed to small and flimsy compared to what I traditionally use. For the extreme finesse bass fisherman this may be the way to go. I found the durability on these thin worms to be an issue.
skeptical at first
At first I was very skeptical. Looked like another finesse worm with some variation. Caught some very finicky/pressure bass. Last 5 fish caught have been on the plans tail. No drop shot. Just a Texas Rig. I have already purchased more at biospawn website. These worms are awesome. P.s. my wife calls them the alien sperm...lol
Really lifelike and very durable. Color works great too.
The fish love these things on a drop shot.
great worm but..
This is a great worm but i do with it was a bit longer and bulkier. Used it a little bit for drop shot and mostly for a shorter Texas Rig. Great worm, Just needs bigger size
I've never been a huge drop-shotter, but this worm has changed my mind about it. I absolutely hammered fish on this worm on Pickwick lake. I recommend this bait to any bass fisherman.
Another great product from Biospawn here... Everytime i pull these out for a drop shot or a T-rig i get bites. They also seem to be holding up to multiple bites. The only complaint is i wish they were a but longer and thicker.
BioSpawn is awesome. Their customer service is unmatched. Their products are eextremely well thought out. This plasma tail is no exception. Great for getting those lethargic bass to start biting.
BioSpawn is GREAT and this plasma tail is no exception. Drop shoting this thing is deadly. Noone elses looks quite like these. They seem to hold up fairly well also. I would highly recommend them.
Like the brand
I have had some real good luck with BioSpawn so far. Fairly durable plastics. No one else is building plastics that look like their lineup and the plasma tail is great for finesse or drop shoting.
Fishes worst nightmare
The Bio-Spawn Plasma Tail worms catch fish like no other dropshot worm I have EVER fished with. The action they give off when twitched drives bass wild and causes vicious strikes. This worm is extremely fun to fish with because you can catch fish on almost every cast. On the 2 days I fished with it I caught four 8 pounders and one giant 10 pounder.
cool looking bait
I got the bait and I couldn't wait to put it in my tackle box I was in my tackle box a week later and the baits was hard and small, they dried out
good soft plastic
Good soft plastic work great for dead sticking, dropshot fishing and work ok for wacky rig fishing
Change isn't always bad
I'm not a man who welcomes change with open arms. I've been using the same soft plastics since I started fishing years and years ago. That being said, you can't argue with the results that these bad boys showed. It wasn't the size of the fish I was impressed with, it was the consistency with which they bit. These seem to be pretty irresistible.
Get results using wacky
I've rigged this plastic up carolina, Texas and with the drop shot weights from this month and I've had numerous bites. However the wacky rigg had me hook a monster largemouth from the bank early morning.
The colors are eye catching and the presentation in the water is lively.
I decided to order me a full pack of these bad boys.
Thanks MTB for the samples!
I rigged these up drop shot style and slayed the bass, Great product
Nice plastic for drop shotting
Overall this is a nice finesse worm, and the subtle tail design and coloration is great. I'd love to see a larger version as this bait calls in a lot of smaller fish, but the point is that you do get bit. This month's mystery box did result in a sale, as I just ordered the peach/cream color which really looks nice. I will report how that bait performs in a future review.
Great job Bio Spawn on producing some innovative colors, instead of the tried and true colors everyone else has.
4 starts only because it's a dink-magnet, but a solid 5 for concept.
These are the best drop shot plastics I have ever used!
Biospawn is a brand to watch out for. The design of these worms are awesome and the slightly larger tail end moves great in the water. The colorful tip really attracts the fish.
Wiggly and good
Outstanding color for clear, fresh water. Great finesse and presentation for large and small mouth bass
