13 Year Old Wrestles Favorite Lure From Thief Alligator
What would you do if a gator took your favorite lure? Most likely, you'd shed a quick tear for all the memories you shared, tie something else on, and keep on fishing. Not 13 year old Mystery Tackle Box subscriber Lucas Rabon, who decided to wrestle the gator and fight for his favorite lure. After unsuccessfully trying to unhook his Lucky Craft Fat CB, Lucas wrote to us about his battle:
Hello mystery tackle box. My name is Lucas Rabon. I am 13 years old. I love your boxes. They are the best, but this week I was fishing at my local pond. There was an alligator in the pond. It bit my lure. I fought it onto the bank and I grabbed its tail and pulled it on the bank where I wrestled the 3 foot gator on land for my favorite lucky craft lure. The Lucky Craft Fat CB, but I had him pined by his mouth and I was on the gator but my lure was in the gators body hooked really hard. I couldn't get it out as much as I tried. That is when it flipped on me and hopped back in the water with my lure, almost taking my abu garcia silver max reel and bass pro shops rod. I love this lure so much I always catch fish on this amazing bait you sent me for the February MTB. I am asking that you please send me the Lucky Craft Fat CB in any color. Again, i'd love it more than anything. If you want to see the picture of me and the alligator I wrestled please email me back and I will send the picture to you from my phone thank you very much.
Naturally, we asked for the picture, and Lucas sent us this amazing photo:
I don't care if you're an alligator, a shark or an armed militia, this is not the face of someone you want to try stealing a Lucky Craft from:
After we told Lucas we'd be happy to replace his favorite lure, he sent along this photo of a bass he caught on it. Tight lines, Lucas!
[UPDATE]: We were able to get some footage of the battle between Lucas and the gator:
[Editor's Note]: Please do not wrestle alligators and send us photos/videos of the altercation. Alligators have sharp teeth and are dangerous wrestling partners.
