A spinnerbait is a general term for any fishing lure with a spinning blade as its main fish attractor. The most common spinnerbaits in bass fishing is a wired spinnerbait that features a thin wireframe, a hook, a rubber skirt, and one to three metal blades hanging from the wire attached by clevises. When in motion, the spinnerbaits skirt and blades work together as they flutter and pulsate through the water creating a loud and noticeable action. Spinnerbaits are used in bass fishing and usually fished around shallow grass, weeds, rocks, or wood. Their hairpin design resists snags, cuts through the water, and keeps spinnerbaits upright throughout each cast. Add a soft plastic swimbait to the back of your spinnerbait for added action.
